White Fillings
“White fillings” are not in fact white, but are actually shades of white to match your natural teeth. They have good strength, and great esthetic properties unlike “silver” (amalgam) fillings. The composite filling material is carved into the appropriate shape while it is still soft, and then hardened with a curing light. Polishing ensures a smooth surface that looks and feels like your natural tooth. In addition to being more attractive, white fillings offer a healthier option instead of silver fillings, which contain mercury.
