Sedation Dentistry

Sedation for longer dental appointments or to alleviate dental anxiety is a great treatment option.

Whether it is due to a past bad experience or general anxiety, sedation offers a way to relax and make the experience more comfortable. Oral sedation is a safe, effective way of making a more pleasant visit to the dentist. It is a mild sedation pill (Halcion) that dissolves under your tongue, and takes effect within an hour. It simply makes you feel sleepy and relaxed, unlike general anaesthetic; oral sedation wears off very fast. However, on the day of the appointment you will be receiving oral sedation you must have someone to drive you home, as you will not be able to do so yourself.

Q: What does dental insurance cover?

A.It varies depending on your insurance plan, but most plans should cover your routine checkups, cleanings, and X-rays. Cosmetic treatments like whitening or veneers are usually not covered by insurance.
